MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER

Primary responsibilities of Lead Teacher at the School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre:

  • Implement and support instruction and assessment practices for a diverse group of students that reflect the Florida Standards and the principles of our Charter
  • Establish a strong working partnership with Middle School team and effectively utilize these relationships to develop an exceptional learning environment for students
  • Engage in continuous professional development and shared learning with other professional staff
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members and others to support and implement the goals of the school
  • Actively participate in faculty, grade level team and other school related meetings/events • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Uphold professional duties including attendance, parent communication and deadlines
  • Demonstrate sound classroom management
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with the MTSS team to implement interventions and monitor progress
  • Ability to plan and execute rigorous, teacher-created, hands-on lessons • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Current Florida Teaching Certificate or Statement of Eligibility (in field)
  • Strong classroom management
  • Familiarity with the Florida Standards

PREFERRED

  • ESOL Certificate
  • Experience working with Middle School aged students
  • Conscious Discipline Training or Experience
  • Experience with the MTSS process
  • Familiarity with the Key Components of the SAS Charter (view school website)

• Ability to plan and execute rigorous, teacher created, hands-on thematic lessons with support from the Lead Teacher

K-8 Learning Gains Specialist

The School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre is seeking applications for a full-time Learning Gains Specialist. An ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the Science of Reading – the five components of reading and the impact of explicit, systematic, multisensory reading instruction
  • At least two years of Structured Literacy instruction in whole group and small group settings
  • Ability to assess student need through diagnostic screenings and assessments
  • Ability to write diagnostic, prescriptive lesson plans for small group instruction
  • Demonstrate understanding of the MTSS framework for classroom learning and intervention instruction
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Evidence of working knowledge with technology
  • Proven experience establishing and monitoring in class intervention groups
  • Experience in collecting and interpreting student data for instructional planning

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Attend Student Support Team Meetings as needed
  • Attend RTI & Data Chat meetings
  • Attend parent conferences as needed
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members and others to support and implement the goals of the school
  • Actively participate in faculty, grade level team and other school related meetings/events
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Uphold professional duties including attendance, communication, and deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

For Students

  • Plan & deliver supplemental interventions in small group or 1:1
  • Track student data for interventions
  • Progress monitoring for students in interventions
  • Complete appropriate sections of MTSS paperwork and assist in the referral process as needed

For Teachers

  • Assist in reviewing data and identifying students who need interventions
  • Assist in planning and executing supplemental interventions
  • Provide resources and information on new & different learning strategies
  • Provide guidance and support in completing the RTI process

The School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre is seeking applications for a full-time Gardening Teacher. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ability to plan and execute rigorous, teacher-created, hands-on gardening lessons that incorporate Florida State Standards
  • Implement and support instructional practices for a diverse group of students that reflect the principles of our Charter
  • Establish a strong working partnership with the Special Area Team and effectively utilize this relationship to develop an exceptional learning environment for students
  • Engage in continuous professional development and shared learning with other professional staff
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members, and others to support and implement the goals of the school
  • Actively particpate in faculty and school related events/meetings
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Utilize sound budgeting in determining classroom expenses
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Conscious Discipline Experience
  • Florida Teaching Certificate

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

The School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre (SASC) uses an internal list of substitute teachers that is separate from the Leon County Schools substitute list. All substitute teachers must have an approved background check done through Leon County Schools prior to working at SASC. If you would like to be added to the SASC substitute teacher list please provide a resume or cover letter by mail, hand delivery, or email to sasc@leonschools.net. Include your experience, class preferences, and the hours and days of your availability.

The typical school day is from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Pay is $14.00 per hour for approximately 7 hours per day, depending on the need.
