Primary responsibilities of the Spanish Teacher at the School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre:

• Ability to plan and execute rigorous, teacher created, hands-on Spanish lessons that reflect the Florida Standards

SCHOOL COUNSELOR

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking applications for a Guidance Counselor.

The SAS Guidance Counselor will support the Social/Emotional Learning of students in grades K-8. They will work with the Dean of Students to:

  • Plan and implement SEL lessons in all elementary classrooms.
  • Offer Small groups for specific social, and self-regulation skills
  • Offer One-on-one behavior support as needed.
  • Support teachers with student behavior plans.

The Guidance Counselor is also responsible for Bullying and Harassment investigations, as well as Threat and Suicide Risk Assessments.

This is a full-time salaried position and qualifies for benefits, including health insurance.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree

Meet one of the following: a shool psychologist certified under Rule 6A-4.0311, F.A.C., a school social worker certified under Rule 6A-4.035, F.A.C., a school counselor certified under Rule 6A-4.0181, F.A.C., or a mental health professional licensed under Chapter 490 or 491

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

The School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre (SASC) uses an internal list of substitute teachers that is separate from the Leon County Schools substitute list. All substitute teachers must have an approved background check done through Leon County Schools prior to working at SASC. If you would like to be added to the SASC substitute teacher list please provide a resume or cover letter by mail, hand delivery, or email to sasc@leonschools.net. Include your experience, class preferences, and the hours and days of your availability.

The typical school day is from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Pay is $14.00 per hour for approximately 7 hours per day, depending on the need.
