SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

The School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre (SASC) uses an internal list of substitute teachers that is separate from the Leon County Schools substitute list. All substitute teachers must have an approved background check done through Leon County Schools prior to working at SASC. If you would like to be added to the SASC substitute teacher list please provide a resume or cover letter by mail, hand delivery, or email to sasc@leonschools.net. Include your experience, class preferences, and the hours and days of your availability.

The typical school day is from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Pay is $14.00 per hour for approximately 7 hours per day, depending on the need.

School Counselor

The School of Arts and Sciences on Thomasville Road is seeking applications for a full time Guidance Counselor.

The SAST Guidance Counselor will support the Social/Emotional Learning of students in grades K-8. They will work with the Dean of Students to:

  • Plan and implement SEL lessons in all elementary classrooms.
  • Offer Small groups for specific social, and self-regulation skills
  • Offer One-on-one behavior support as needed.
  • Support teachers with student behavior plans.

The Dean and the Guidance Counselor are also responsible for all Bullying and Harassment investigations, as well as Threat, and Suicide Risk Assessments.

This is a full-time salaried position and qualifies for benefits, including health insurance.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree

Current Florida Teaching Certificate (Primary and/or Elementary/Guidance)

Familiarity with the Key Components of the SAS Charter (view school website)

PREFERRED

Experience teaching and/or counseling elementary and middle school aged students

Conscious Discipline Training

CPI Training

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary starts at $41,400 annual

Commensurate with education and experience
